Two young boys die after being struck by car in Yan


YAN: Two boys died after being hit by a car while riding a bicycle in Kampung Sedaka Tengah here on Saturday (Nov 22).

The incident occurred around 9.15am, resulting in serious head injuries for both victims, who were confirmed dead at the scene.

One of the residents, who declined to be named, said the victims, aged 10 and 11, were riding a bicycle with one person standing on the back when suddenly, they were hit by a car from behind.

Yan OCPD Supt Mohamad Hamizi Abdullah confirmed the incident, stating that the police received information from the public about a collision between a car and a bicycle on Jalan Sedaka Tengah at around 9.25am.

"Two children lost their lives at the scene, and updates on the case will be provided later," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
