AFTER making her mark as a top entrepreneur, Datuk Seri Hasmiza Othman, popularly known as Datuk Vida (pic), is now venturing into the arts and acting industry, reported Kosmo!

Datuk Vida is set to expand her artistic pursuits by acting in the film Jibrail, directed by Azlan Norani.

The businesswoman is currently busy completing the project, which is expected to be released in January 2026.

“I’m the lead actress in Azlan Norani’s next project, which is about 80% into filming.

“It’s a sad story, and I agreed to act because I wanted to support Azlan.

“He waited a year for my answer because I couldn’t memorise the script perfectly and didn’t want to burden anyone.

“But he insisted on working with me,” Datuk Vida said, adding that she was cast as Jibrail’s mother, who was bullied, cheated and oppressed by society.

Sharing further, the 54-year-old entrepreneur said the project was specifically created for her.

“Before this, I was always a ‘happy-go-lucky’ person, but in this film, I’m completely different.

“People wouldn’t expect me to be such a strong, emotional, tear-jerking actress.”

“My character is like a female version of the Joker, a woman filled with vengeance,” said Datuk Vida.

Commenting on her preparations, she admitted that she did not have time to attend acting classes due to her packed schedule.

> Actress Uqasha Senrose has clarified that her decision to divorce her husband, actor Kamal Adli, was not influenced by ego or the presence of a third party, Berita Harian reported.

Instead, she said she could no longer endure the emotional distress and sorrow that had begun to take a toll on her well-being.

The actress said she had given Kamal a second chance to fix their strained relationship.

“I have tried my very best. I even met with Kamal’s family first to seek their help in repairing and preserving our marriage.

“However, there was no change at all from Kamal.

“After that chance was wasted, I felt it was best to choose this path,” she claimed.

Uqasha filed for divorce against Kamal on Oct 1, citing a lack of understanding.

Her initial mention at the Federal Territory Syariah Lower Court took place on Oct 22.

The couple married on Nov 4, 2021, in a private ceremony in Janda Baik, Pahang.

They have a daughter, Hawra Uqaira, who will soon turn two.
