Pendang Bersatu chairman Abdul Razak Khamis cleared of wrongdoing by party’s disciplinary board

PETALING JAYA: Pendang Bersatu chairman Abdul Razak Khamis has been cleared of any wrongdoing allegations after an investigation by the party's disciplinary board.

The Sungai Tiang assemblyman, who is also Kedah's Deputy State Speaker confirmed the matter on Wednesday (Nov 19), reported Sinar Harian

Abdul Razak received a letter from the board on Monday, clearing him of any alleged disciplinary wrongdoings.

He had also shared the matter on his social media on Tuesday.

"Thank God. The truth has come out. I received a letter from the party's Disciplinary Board which decided to clear me of any disciplinary wrongdoings.

"Thank goodness, speaking the truth even though it is bitter is necessary if we want this party to be continue on the political landscape in the country," he added.

The decision was following allegations that Abdul Razak had attacked Bersatu information chief Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz.

In September, Abdul Razak was called to give his statement to the disciplinary board following his remarks on social media that touched on Tun Faisal's views regarding the party's relationship with other component parties in Perikatan Nasional.

Abdul Razak openly described several of Tun Faisal's statements as being possibly offending to component parties and creating a perception that Bersatu wants to as the "big brother' in Perikatan.

He had said that his statement was merely a reminder that Tun Faisal be more careful when issuing statements publicly that could affect the sentiment of other parties, especially PAS.
