We’ll build back Sabah together, says Zahid

KOTA KINABALU: Barisan Nasional’s lineup of candidates for the state election is tasked to rebuild Sabah, says coalition chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“For the past seven years since Barisan lost power in the state, it has seen three coalitions rise and fall, yet the rate of progress continues to stall.

“Now, it is our time to come back to power and rebuild Sabah,” he said, adding that all the candidates are genuine Sabahans.

Ahmad Zahid maintained that Sabah Barisan is not a Malaya party – the local term referring to Peninsular Malaysia.

He said its leaders are Sabahans who have been fighting for the rights and welfare of the people.

Ahmad Zahid pledged that if the coalition wins the election, there would be more development, allocations and investments as well as better welfare.

“It is vital for Barisan to win in this election, as many Sabahans yearn for Barisan to return to power.

“So, it is in your hands. Barisan will repay this yearning with the best services rendered by our elected representatives,” he said at the launch of the Barisan election machinery.

“One of the things I told state Barisan chief Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin to resolve is the water issue within three years if they form the state government, as well as existing power woes in the state,” he said.
