Star Karnival Cuti-Cuti Malaysia returns to Johor with exciting midnight sale

Star Karnival Cuti-Cuti Malaysia held at Plaza Merdeka, Kuching, Sarawak, successfully showcased the best of Malaysia in terms of destinations, culture and experiences, with visitors entertained by various traditional cultural performances.

JOHOR BARU: The much-anticipated Star Karnival Cuti-Cuti Malaysia (SKCCM) is set to bring three days of excitement, culture and travel inspiration to Paradigm Mall Convention Centre from tomorrow (Nov 7) to Nov 9.

Co-organised by Tourism Malaysia and Star Media Group, the carnival is part of an ongoing effort to encourage Malaysians to explore the country’s diverse destinations, discover unique experiences and engage with local communities.

Following successful editions in Pahang, Selangor, Sarawak and Penang, SKCCM Johor promises a vibrant blend of interactive activities, live performances, family-friendly entertainment and exclusive travel promotions.

Each previous edition saw strong public participation, highlighting Malaysians’ interest in domestic tourism and community-focused events.

The Johor leg introduces a special attraction — a Saturday midnight sale — extending festivities until 12am with one-night-only promotions and lively stage performances.

Visitors to the carnival can expect a dynamic programme designed for all ages. From cultural showcases and live stage entertainment to interactive workshops and games, the three-day event provides an immersive platform where Malaysians can experience the country’s rich culture, arts and lifestyle offerings.

Travel enthusiasts can browse a wide range of exclusive holiday packages and domestic travel deals, while families can enjoy engaging activities that cater to children and adults alike.

In addition, a variety of local artisan products and culinary delights will be on display, offering visitors the chance to support small businesses and discover unique Malaysian crafts and flavours.

The Saturday midnight sale adds a new dimension to the carnival, encouraging late-night participation and providing visitors with a one-of-a-kind shopping and entertainment experience. Participating exhibitors and retail partners will offer special promotions, while live performances, stage games and interactive audience activities keep the energy high until midnight. This extended activation not only attracts shoppers and families but also creates an exciting weekend atmosphere, combining leisure, culture and commerce in a festive environment.

SKCCM Johor continues to promote Malaysia’s diverse tourism offerings, highlighting destinations across the country rather than focusing on any single state.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore cultural heritage sites, nature-based attractions, eco-tourism experiences and culinary journeys, all within one accessible and engaging location. By bringing together tourism operators, lifestyle exhibitors and creative entrepreneurs, the carnival provides a platform for communities to interact directly with the people behind the products, services and experiences that make Malaysia unique.

The carnival also plays an important role in supporting local talent and entrepreneurship. Artisans, small businesses and F&B operators gain visibility and access to a broader audience, allowing them to showcase their crafts and services to an engaged and receptive public. Cultural and creative elements are woven throughout the event, offering opportunities for visitors to learn, participate and connect with Malaysia’s rich traditions while experiencing contemporary leisure and lifestyle trends.

SKCCM Johor is more than a tourism fair; it is a celebration of Malaysian culture, creativity and community spirit. Families, young adults and leisure travellers are encouraged to take part in a programme designed to inspire exploration, learning and interaction. Through live performances, hands-on workshops, travel promotions and artisanal showcases, the event provides a multi-sensory experience that engages visitors from start to finish.

By combining on-ground activations, cultural showcases and interactive experiences, SKCCM continues to build awareness of Malaysia’s domestic travel potential.

Previous editions demonstrated strong public interest and Johor’s three-day programme is expected to attract a diverse audience seeking entertainment, inspiration and memorable weekend experiences.

The carnival reinforces the idea that exploring Malaysia can be engaging, educational and fun, providing a platform for Malaysians to appreciate the country’s offerings while supporting local communities and businesses.

With three days of continuous activities, special performances, interactive exhibits and exclusive promotions, SKCCM Johor promises an immersive and enjoyable experience for everyone. From families and young adults to travel enthusiasts and shoppers, the event offers an opportunity to discover, engage and celebrate the very best of Malaysia in one vibrant setting.
