Over 40 Ampang school pupils get free specs

MORE than 40 pupils from SJK (T) Ampang received free prescription spectacles, thanks to the Lions Club of Petaling Jaya, Makkal Osai reported.

The PJ chapter has been active for 60 years and often helps pupils with eyesight problem.

The pupils underwent eyesight tests and 47 of them required glasses which were given to them for free.

They were even allowed to pick frames in their favourite colours.

Ram Brahmmam from Telangana was looking to sell his old house but could not find a buyer.

So he decided to offer his house through a raffle and sold lottery tickets at 500 rupees (RM23.60) each.

One of the lottery ticket buyers was a restaurant worker named Shankar who bought four tickets, one each for himself, his wife, his elder daughter and baby daughter Hansika.

The ticket under Hansika’s name was the winning ticket.
