KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is the only country bold enough to raise the Palestinian and Gaza issue directly with US President Donald Trump, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The Prime Minister said that when it comes to Gaza, there must be a comprehensive solution to the longstanding conflict.
"What more do you want me to say? That’s already the maximum.
"Which nation had the courage to mention that directly to Trump? (Malaysia did), because I represented Malaysia," he said during Prime Minister's Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday (Nov 4).

He added that he had used the opportunity of Trump's visit here on Oct 26 for the 47th Asean Summit and Related Summits to raise the issue several times.
"If I said it happened in a private conversation with Trump inside 'The Beast' (the nickname for the presidential limousine, Cadillac One), you could question it.
"But this was done openly, not once, but three times publicly.
"I am not asking for praise.
"But to be cursed and insulted in the name of religion, it’s really disgusting.
"(Those who did so) ignored the facts and went straight to condemning," he said.

Anwar had earlier said he made full use of his time with Trump in The Beast to discuss several issues.
The Prime Minister said their conversation covered a wide range of topics, including Malaysia's ties with China, his invitation to Brazil and South Africa to attend the 47th Asean Summit and Related Summits, trade tariffs, and the situation in Gaza.
Anwar also slammed those who poked fun at him for welcoming Trump and dancing along with him on the red carpet at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
"Some had asked, 'Why did you dance? That’s a huge mistake.'
"But stealing billions of ringgit is fine, apparently.
"That’s the problem with the Opposition – they blow things out of proportion," he said.
