MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warning for multiple states until 3pm


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several states and territories, with warnings in effect until 3pm on Sunday (Nov 2).

In Terengganu, districts such as Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, and Marang are forecast to be affected by severe weather.

As for Pahang, areas including Kuantan, Pekan, and Rompin are under the warning.

In Selangor, residents in Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, and Sepang are advised to be vigilant as adverse conditions are expected. The Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya are also included in the alert.

Similarly, in Negeri Sembilan, Jelebu, Seremban, and Port Dickson are on alert for severe weather.

In Johor, all districts are expected to face thunderstorms and heavy rain.

Meanwhile, in Sarawak, the warning covers Betong and Mukah (including Daro, Matu, Dalat, and Mukah).

MetMalaysia issues these warnings when thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour are imminent or expected to last more than an hour. These are short-term warnings, valid for no more than six hours from issuance.
