Lenggeng sewage pit tragedy ruled accidental, cops say NFA

SEREMBAN: The case involving a pupil who died after falling into a sewage pit at a school in Lenggeng, Nilai, has been classified as no further action (NFA).

Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said a detailed investigation concluded that the incident was an accident, with no criminal elements or involvement of any party detected.

"Initially, the case was investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001. The investigation was later referred to the deputy public prosecutor before being categorised as NFA.

"From the investigation, we are satisfied that the case was an accident," he told Bernama on Saturday (Nov 1).
