Selangor Sultan presents instruments of appointment to Syariah judges, members of state Islamic institutions


SHAH ALAM: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, today presented instruments of appointment to 17 individuals for roles in the state’s Islamic institutions in a ceremony at Istana Bukit Kayangan here.

At the ceremony, Nenney Shuhaidah Shamsuddin received her instrument of appointment as Syarie Chief Judge, Datuk Mohd Radzi Abd Latif was made a permanent panel member of the Syariah Appeal Court Judges, and Salwani Khalid assumed the post of Chief Registrar of the Selangor Syariah Court of Appeal.

Also receiving their instruments of appointment at the ceremony were Muhammad Amir Firdaus Sidin, Mohd Amir Yahaya, Norul Aina Bahari and Ahmad Faizul Ashar, who were appointed Selangor Syariah Lower Court Judges.

Norhazli Rahim took up the role of Deputy Registrar of the Selangor Syariah High Court, while Nurun Nabilah Ahmad Jaril, Mohamad Nasrin Kasnan, Nur Hani Athirah Zainal Bahari and Nur Kamilah Mohamad Soleh were made Assistant Registrars of the Syariah Lower Court.

Mohd Raizalani Mohd Rais received the instrument of appointment as Chief Registrar, while Mohammad Azli Ab Rahman was appointed Senior Registrar of Marriage, Divorce and Referral.

Mohd Sabirin Mohd Sarbini was appointed Secretary of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS), effective July, 16, 2025, replacing Dr Haji Ahmad Shahir Makhtar, and also received an instrument of appointment as a member of the Lembaga Zakat Selangor’s Board of Trustees for the 2024-2026 term.

Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed and Mohamed Izam Mohamed Yusof received their instruments of appointment as members of the Board of Directors of the Selangor Wakaf Corporation. - Bernama
