Ramanujan Award for three teachers


THREE Tamil school teachers were honoured with the Ramanujan Award for their dedication to fostering an interest in science among students, Malaysia Nanban reported.

This award by the Association of Science, Technology & Innovation (Asti) pays homage to celebrated Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, whose legacy was portrayed in the movies Ramanujan (2014) and The Man Who Knew Infinity (2015).

Datin Devaki Supramaniam from SJK(T) Castlefield, was recognised for her efforts in engaging pupils in science and innovation competitions at the national level.

SJK(T) Masai science teacher Sivaneetha Sivanantham, and third recipient, SJK(T) St Philomena Convent teacher Purnima Krishnasamy, were acknowledged for being instrumental in guiding students towards participation in national and international science innovation contests.

All three thanked their school management and pupils for their support and engagement.
