KOTA KINABALU: Describing Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s (GRS) work for the people as far from over, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor is seeking a fresh mandate to complete ongoing development plans.
“We have new challenges that demand bold solutions, and we are ready to lead Sabah into its next chapter.
“As this term concludes, we seek the people’s renewed mandate to continue the progress we have begun – building a stronger, more prosperous and united Sabah for all,” the caretaker Chief Minister said when announcing the dissolution of the Sabah Assembly yesterday.
Earlier yesterday, Hajiji had an audience with Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Musa Aman to seek consent to dissolve the state assembly.
Hajiji said during the five years, the government had put in place a clear path of transformation through the holistic and inclusive Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan, guided by three pillars.
The pillars are agriculture, industry and tourism; human capital and people’s welfare; and infrastructure development and green sustainability.
Hajiji said the state government took bold and responsible steps to address long-standing legacy issues, especially on water and electricity supply as well as critical infrastructure.
“Some initiatives have been completed, while others are progressing steadily toward completion,” he said.
“During my term, Sabah has strengthened its economy, attracted new investments to create jobs, expanded educational support and improved the social well- being of all communities.”
These achievements were possible because of the people’s trust, support and shared vision for a better Sabah, he added.
Hajiji expressed hope the outcome of the election would strengthen the people’s voice, safeguard stability and security, and ensure continued progress for Sabah.
