PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says he was summoned by the Conference of Rulers at Istana Negara on Tuesday (Oct 7) to give updates on several key issues including on Asean, Budget 2026 and US President Donald Trump's upcoming visit to the 47th Asean Summit this month.

The Prime Minister said that as part of the pre-Council meeting, the Malay Rulers were briefed of the latest developments including the series of high level attendance of world leaders in conjunction with the Asean Summit this month.

"This includes the incoming visit of Donald Trump and Malaysia's position on the 20-point plan to end the Gaza conflict," he told reporters after launching the Asean Conference 2025: Future Ready Public Service here on Tuesday (Oct 10).

Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said that he had briefed the Conference of Rulers on other key policy issues and the preparations on the Budget 2026.

In his keynote speech earlier, Anwar explained that he was unable to be in Parliament on Tuesday morning as he also had to send off Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
