Over 3,000 tonnes of rice wiped out as floods submerge Kedah paddy fields


PENDANG: Over 3,000 tonnes of rice were wiped out as heavy rain innundated 624ha of paddy fields in Region III of the Muda Agricultural Development Authority (Mada) last Friday, resulting in estimated losses of RM4.6mil.

Mada chairman Datuk Dr Ismail Salleh said nearly all crops that were nearing harvest were destroyed after being flooded over the past few days.
