JERANTUT: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has received a contribution of RM6.87mil from FGV Holdings Berhad (FGV) to be channelled to the Pahang Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MUIP) and the local community.
Of the amount received on Wednesday (Sept 24), RM4.87mil is FGV’s 2024 business tithe payment for MUIP, while the remaining RM2mil will be distributed to the community through various corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
Al-Sultan Abdullah also presented FGV cash contributions of RM500 each to 100 asnaf (eligible for tithe) recipients and handed over mock cheques for several other initiatives, including the construction of 10 new houses for asnaf worth RM863,700, contributions to 15 educational institutions comprising religious schools, national schools, and madrasah, as well as RM100,000 for upgrading works at the the Tun Razak Agricultural Research Centre (PPPTR) Mosque.
Other contributions included an ultrasound machine worth RM89,000 to the Chini Health Clinic, a RM150,000 hearse, the implementation of the Hijrah Asnaf project with MUIP and Agrobank, valued at RM500,000, as well as RM100,000 for Yayasan Al-Sultan Abdullah (YASA).
His Royal Highness received and presented the contributions at the FGV Seikhlas Hati programme: Business Zakat Handover and FGV Group 2025 Contribution Ceremony at PPPTR here on Wednesday.
Al-Sultan Abdullah also expressed appreciation to FGV for the business tithe contribution and prayed for the company’s continued success.
"I hope FGV will increase its business tithe next year, Insya-Allah," the Pahang Ruler said.
In line with Al-Sultan Abdullah’s call, FGV chairman Tan Sri Rastam Mohd Isa said the company is committed to increasing its tithe contributions in the future, adding that the Seiklhas Hati programme is also an incentive for its employees to boost productivity by cutting costs, increasing output, and ultimately driving higher profits.
