PAS committed to working with Perikatan in run-up to GE16, says party veep

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS has reiterated its commitment to continue working with Perikatan Nasional on the road to the 16th General Election (GE16).

PAS vice-president Datuk Idris Ahmad said the coalition’s partnership is the main strength for them to face GE16 and champion the interests of the people and nation.

“Unity in Perikatan also strengthens us as a political coalition that is more whole, principled and far-sighted.

“Perikatan must continue to prioritise pressing issues affecting the people, including the Urban Renewal Act (URA), the case involving (bullying victim) Zara Qairina (Mahathir), the impact of the RON95 subsidy rationalisation as well as the cost of living faced by Malaysians,” he said in a Facebook post Friday (Sept 19).

Idris also invited people to attend an upcoming mass gathering to protest against URA on Oct 4.

“PAS believes that with the solidarity and commitment of all Perikatan components, we can offer better, fairer and more just solutions to the rakyat,” he added.
