Man drowns while fishing at Kuala Penyu in KK


KOTA KINABALU: A 20-year-old man drowned during a fishing trip in Kuala Penyu on Monday (Sept 15).

Kuala Penyu Fire Station chief Zulhalim Abidin said they received an emergency call at 1.15pm and had sent a team to respond.

"Our rescue team found the victim some 500m from where he was last seen at around 1.45pm," he said.

Medical officials on site pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The body was handed over to police for further action, and no other casualties were reported.
