October sitting to be current Sarawak assembly’s last, says Speaker

KUCHING: The upcoming Sarawak State Legislative Assembly sitting, expected to be held in October, will be the final sitting of the current term, says Tan Sri Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar.

The Sarawak Speaker said further details on the sitting, including the list of Bills to be tabled, would be announced at a press conference a day before proceedings begin.

"I will call for a press conference the day before the Assembly sitting and of course, this is our last because after that, the Assembly expires.

"So far, my office has not received any Bills from the government,” he told reporters after officiating the Aku Kasih Malaysia: Pimpinan Belia Negeri Sarawak seminar here on Tuesday (Sept 22).
