JERTIH: A carpenter died after falling from the roof of a house under construction in Felda Tenang, in Hulu Besut near here, around noon on Tuesday (Sept 22).
Besut OCPD Supt Mohd Rozaime Ab Rahim said the incident was reported to have occurred at 12.45pm.
At the time of the incident, the victim, Zulkarnain Alias, 56, from Kampung Bukit Payung here, was carrying out roofing installation work on the house.
"Before the incident, the victim was reported to have complained of dizziness before fainting and falling into the interior of the house. He was then found unconscious before being confirmed dead at the scene," he said in a statement.
The victim’s remains were sent to Besut Hospital, where a post-mortem examination found the cause of death to be injuries to the chest and abdomen due to a fall from a high place.
Supt Mohd Rozaime added that police investigations so far revealed no criminal elements in the incident. – Bernama
