Driver dies after being thrown out of 4WD in Nilai crash

SEREMBAN: The driver of a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle was killed while his passenger was injured after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a car at KM276 of the North-South Expressway Sunday (Sept 14) morning.

Nilai OCPD Supt Abdul Malik Hasim said the 4WD vehicle driver, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries to the head after he was thrown from his vehicle during the crash.

"Preliminary investigations found that the victim with his passenger, also a man in his 20s, were from Bangsar heading to Seremban when he lost control of his vehicle and hit the divider on the right side of the road.

"The vehicle spun several times before it hit the back of a car driven by a man, in his 40s, carrying his wife and two teenage children, before flipping over,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

Supt Abdul Malik added that the body of the 4WD driver was taken to Rembau Hospital for autopsy.

He urged those with information about the crash to contact the Nilai district police at 06-7904389 or Nilai district police headquarters traffic investigation officer, Insp Muhammad Farid Danial Azli at 012-9122198.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — Bernama
