DESPITE having only one leg since he was a child, Muhammad Alif Aiman Juyana @ Azlan has never let his disability stop him from pursuing his dreams, Harian Metro reported.

The 27-year-old logistics executive graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Hons) from Universiti Teknologi Mara yesterday.

Muhammad Alif Aiman, who was diagnosed with right tibia osteosarcoma, an aggressive form of bone cancer, at age eight, described his achievement as a victory against life’s challenges.

“I am grateful to God. I am very happy that this long-awaited moment has finally arrived,” said the Business and Management Faculty student when met at his convocation ceremony in Shah Alam.

“My thanks also go to my parents, who have given me endless support.”

Following his diagnosis in 2006, he underwent several chemotherapy sessions. Unfortunately, his right leg had to be amputated.

“That did not break my spirit, and I was determined to prove that my disability is not a barrier to success,” he added.

Muhammad Alif Aiman, who works at a logistics and haulage service provider in Port Klang, said many had initially doubted that he would be able to work in a warehouse.

However, he succeeded with the support of his employer and colleagues.

His main focus now is on building a career in the logistics field, and he also hopes to pursue a master’s degree in the future.
