Man killed, wife injured in Ipoh car crash


IPOH: A man was killed while his wife suffered minor injuries after the car they were travelling in skidded and overturned in front of a furniture shop on Jalan Sultan Idris Shah here on Wednesday (Sept 10).

Perak Fire and Rescue Department acting assistant director of operations Shazlean Mohd Hanafiah said they received a call regarding the accident at 8.06am and dispatched nine personnel from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.

"The man, 55, was pinned in the driver's side of the Toyota Corolla Altis car and was confirmed dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel.

"His wife, 48, sustained minor injuries and was given early treatment before being sent to the hospital,” he said in a statement today.

He added that the victim's body was extricated using hydraulic equipment before being handed over to the police. - Bernama
