"However, who was behind it is still under police investigation. As a precaution, the National Security Council (MKN) has ordered increased security measures to ensure preparedness, whether the threat involves the LNG facility in Bintulu or in Sabah, as the messages only referred to LNG in general," he said.
Earlier, Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail had said that a police report was filed by a PETRONAS officer stationed in Bintulu, claiming to have received several threatening messages from an unknown individual.
"The PETRONAS officer received several threats via short message service (SMS). After receiving these threats multiple times, a police report was made," he said.
