In a social media post later, a relative of hers appealed to the public to stop making threats.

The post was believed to have been taken down for safety reasons not long afterwards.

On Sunday (Sept 7), a 61-year-old pensioner was detained in Semporna for allegedly threatening Dr Hiu through his social media account.

ACP Kasim said patrols were being conducted in Dr Hiu’s residential area for security purposes.
