A WOMAN in Zhejiang, China, has been jailed for throwing two puppies from her 21st-floor apartment window in a drunken rage, killing them both, Sin Chew Daily reported.

The incident took place in Wenzhou in May, when Xiao Qin returned home after a night of drinking to find her apartment soiled with dog poo and urine.

Unable to wake her younger sister to help clean up, Xiao Qin lashed out: “Since you won’t take responsibility for them, let’s not keep them anymore.”

She then threw her own puppy out the window, followed by her sister’s.

A loud thud jolted the residents awake at 5am, revealing a dead dog on the ground. Another badly injured pup was discovered stuck in a tree, but it later died despite efforts to save it.

Xiao Qin was arrested and charged with throwing an object from a height.

She was convicted and sentenced to four months’ prison in addition to an eight-month suspended sentence and a fine of 4,000 yuan (RM2,370).

> A woman in Hunan, China, took public revenge on her best friend who had an affair with her husband by putting up sarcastic thank-you banners, Guangming Daily reported.

Residents in Changsha woke up to find several red and gold banners hanging from buildings, all addressed to a woman surnamed Shi.

One read: “Shi and I have been best friends for 12 years. Thank you for serving my husband all this time. Respectfully, the wife.”

Next to the banners was a poster of a man and woman, believed to be the husband and Shi, with their heads bowed, apparently caught at a hotel.

The banners were taken down shortly after but had already gone viral on Chinese social media.
