PUTRAJAYA: It is not just the K-9 units that will steal the show this year; two cats, Simba and Oyen, are also set to make an appearance.
Part of the Civil Defence Force contingent, Simba was a “new” recruit, having only joined the parade this year.
“He’s still an intern and is new to work,” said an officer in jest to the crowds gathered to watch the parade.
Oyen, meanwhile, was making a third appearance at the National Day parade.
This year’s National Day celebration is themed "Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni”.
It featured 81 contingents, more than 14,000 participants, 437 vehicle assets, 116 animal assets and 21 brass bands.
