KOTA KINABALU: Performers from the West Coast, Kudat, Sandakan, Tawau, and the interior regions of Sabah showcased the state's five ethnic groups during the launch of this year’s month-long Sabah Festival on Aug 30 at Gaya Street, here.

“Themed ‘Unity in Diversity: Culture Unites Us,’ this festival will remind us that culture is the bond that ties us all together,” said State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew at the event.

Numerous events are anticipated throughout this month-long festival, including the Unity Fun Run and Walk at Ujana Tropical Rainforest Park on Sept 6, a Mini Carnival at Imago Mall on Sept 6 and 7, and a grand extravaganza scheduled for Sept 27 and 28 at the Oceanus Boardwalk in the city.

There would also be cultural showcases at various locations, including the Gaya Street Sunday Market on Aug 31, Kota Kinabalu International Airport on Sept 13 and Sept 14 and at the Suria Sabah Mall on Sept 20 and Sept 21.
