Cops to probe case of ‘impatient hubby’

KOTA KINABALU: A woman was allegedly punched by her husband just because she took too long to open the door.

Tawau acting OCPD Supt Champin Piuh said in the incident at midnight on Saturday, the man, in his 30s, knocked on the door of their rented room on Jalan Dunlop because he wanted to sleep.

“However, the woman, who is in her 50s, was late to respond,” he said, adding that the suspect then punched her left arm.

Supt Champin said the woman lodged a report and police nabbed the man around 1.50pm at a roadside yesterday.

He said the case is being investigated for domestic violence and under the Immigration Act.

“We take cases of domestic violence seriously and would not hesitate to take action against perpetrators,” Supt Champin said.
