KUALA LUMPUR: Some 13 out of the 29 demands under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) have been resolved, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
He said nine of the 13 were finalised during the Madani administration, while four were carried out through previous administrations.
“Efforts towards achieving the remaining 16 demands are ongoing.
“This includes education, health, petroleum and oil royalties,” sais the Energy Transition and Water Transformation Ministry when winding up debates for his ministry in the Dewan Rakyat on Monday (Aug 18).
Stressing the government’s commitment to resolving all matter under MA63, he said the time frame also depends on the legal proceedings involved.
“We respect the special position of Sabah and Sarawak as indicated in the Federal Constitution,” he added.
He also said the federal government is always ready to resolve the demands in efforts to recognise the spirit of MA63.
