Cops to trace phone number used to send threats to Rafizi's wife

SHAH ALAM: The police will trace the phone number used to allegedly send a threat to Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli's wife, in a bid to identify the perpetrator.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the police are already investigating the threat thoroughly.

"We are already investigating despite no official police report lodged.

"We urge him (Rafizi) to lodge an official report as soon as possible," he told a press conference at the state police headquarters on Thursday (Aug 14).

On Wednesday (Aug 13), Rafizi’s 12-year-old son was jabbed with a syringe by unknown assailants at a mall carpark, followed by threatening messages sent to his wife merely 12 hours later.

The message, "Diam, andai teruskan AIDS" (Quiet, or else AIDS) came from an unknown number at 1.12am on Thursday (Aug 14).

A second message with emojis of syringes from the same number was received at 11am the same day.
