Trio get picked to pieces online for ‘feeding leftovers’ stunt

PETALING JAYA: Several influencers have sparked public outrage after uploading a video that appeared to show them feeding "leftovers" to a homeless man.

In the video, the trio were seen dining at a restaurant before packing their leftover chicken bones together with a packet of rice. They then handed the parcel to a homeless man who was sleeping on the sidewalk.

The man appeared shocked upon opening the packet, but responded with a simple gesture of thanks.

Following a wave of backlash from netizens, the trio issued an apology in a separate video. They claimed the man had been informed about the filming beforehand and had consented to it.

They also clarified that the chicken bones and rice were not intended as his actual meal.

“We had already given him a proper meal, including rice and two pieces of chicken, before filming,” they said.

“We hope Malaysians can forgive us. We are truly sorry.”

The controversial video has since been removed from their social media platforms.
