DPM Fadillah pays tribute to national heroes on Warriors’ Day

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof expressed his highest appreciation to the nation's heroes and warriors who have bravely risked their lives to defend Malaysia’s sovereignty from the colonial era to the present day.

In a heartfelt Facebook post in conjunction with the 2025 Warriors’ Day celebration, Fadillah said that July 31 serves as a manifestation of the nation's highest respect and gratitude for the sacrifices made by members of the security and defence forces.

"We will never forget the blood, sweat, and lives that were sacrificed to ensure our homeland remains independent, sovereign, and peaceful.

"From the fight against colonialism and the communist insurgency, to peacekeeping missions both domestically and abroad, every chapter in our history is marked by the extraordinary courage of our national heroes," he said.

Fadillah acknowledged that the sacrifices of these brave individuals have laid the foundation for the peace and prosperity enjoyed by Malaysians today.

He also expressed gratitude to those who are still serving, and called on them to continue to serve with integrity, responsibility, and patriotism.

"We would not be where we are today, an independent and sovereign nation, without the fighting spirit, discipline, and loyalty of our national heroes. Thank you to all our heroes. Malaysia stands strong because of your sacrifices.

"For those who have passed on, our prayers are always with them. They fought with honesty and devotion for their country. May the spirit of patriotism and love for Malaysia continue to flourish in the hearts of all Malaysians,” he added. - Bernama
