'Small Apple' wanted for sending pornographic material to women in Sibu

SIBU: Police are currently tracking down a man known as "Small Apple" following two reports from female victims who claimed they had received obscene photos and videos from the man.

Sibu OCPD Asst Comm Zulkipli Suhaili said the issue began circulating on Facebook on July 22, before two women came forward to lodge reports against the man.

“The first report was filed on July 25 from a 33-year-old woman who stated she met the suspect at a wedding in 2022.

Over the course of their year-long acquaintance, the suspect allegedly sent explicit photographs to her under the pretext of seeking her opinion,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (July 30).

The next day, a 40-year-old woman had also lodged a report against the man.

She claimed that her initial conversation with the suspect had centred on health matters, before he began sending pornographic images and videos without consent.

ACP Zulkipli stated that the suspect’s actions were viewed as a subtle form of sexual exploitation.

“Based on both reports, the police have opened an investigation paper under Section 509 of the Penal Code for insulting the modesty of a person through words or conduct,” he stressed.

If found guilty, the suspect could face a prison sentence of up to five years, a fine, or both.

At present, police are actively working to locate the individual believed to be involved in the case.

Members of the public with relevant information are urged to contact Investigating Officer Sgt Major Magdaline on 019-8153727 or visit the nearest police station to assist with the investigation.
