KOTA KINABALU: After winning honours at the Golden Bull Awards 2026, two corporate leaders are eyeing an expansion of telecommunications infrastructure in Sabah.

Cosmos International Consultancy Sdn Bhd (Cosmos) chairman Datuk Seri Mossco Woo Chin Teck and chief executive officer Subha Sathiamoorthy Maraiah said the company’s next focus was to spearhead telecommunications technology and infrastructure development in the state.

“Our main focus is to lead the development of telecommunications technology and infrastructure in Sabah, while expanding green-energy projects and fibre-optic networks through close cooperation with the state government,” Woo said in a statement.

Woo received the Super Golden Bull Award 2026, while Subha received the Golden Bull Inspirational Entrepreneur Award 2026 at a ceremony in Kuala Lumpur on Friday (July 24).

Cosmos has operations in construction, energy, oil and gas, renewable energy, infrastructure and mining in Sabah and Kelantan.

Meanwhile, the duo said commitment, strategic planning and the adoption of new technology had been central to the company’s growth.

“Our goal is to become another Malaysian company listed in the Fortune Global 500,” said Woo, who is also a director of Sedco Communication Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of the Sabah Economic Development Corporation, the state’s economic development agency.

Subha said the company’s work culture emphasised careful planning and innovation.

“Our mantra is simple: plan your work and work your plan. We are always hungry for innovation and new technology, and we want to keep moving forward,” he said.

Cosmos is also working with the Kelantan government to establish a specialised laboratory to test rare earth elements and gold.

The company said the facility was expected to be the first in Malaysia and South-East Asia to adopt dedicated standard operating procedures for rare earth element testing.

“The laboratory in Kelantan will be the first in Malaysia and South-East Asia to have specialised procedures for REE testing. This is an achievement of which we are very proud,” they said.

The awards ceremony was officiated by Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Steven Sim.
