4WD ‘squeezer’ says he rushed to see ill mum


KLANG: The man seen in a viral video attempting to squeeze his four-wheel drive vehicle between other vehicles and threatening road users on the Selat Klang Highway has claimed he was rushing to his mother’s house after she suffered a fall.

Klang Utara OCPD Asst Comm S. Vijaya Rao said the 29-year-old man turned up at the traffic division of the Klang Utara police headquarters at 10pm on Satur­day, with by a lawyer, to lodge a report.

“Based on his statement, the suspect said he was heading to his mother’s house to take her to hospital after she fell at home,” he said in a statement, Bernama reported.

ACP Vijaya said the man was detained at 1.30am for a urine test, which returned negative for drugs, and was released on police bail at 3am.

The case has since been reclassified under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless or dangerous driving.

It was reported that police were trying to track down the driver based on the viral video.
