Meeting with Pakatan MPs went well, says Anwar


PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says the closed-door meeting between Pakatan Harapan MPs and him went well.

When asked how the meeting progressed, the Prime Minister gave a thumbs up and said "very good."

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil Law said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Law and Institutional Reform) Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said was also present during the session to brief lawmakers on Article 125 of the Federal Constitution, which pertains to the tenure and remuneration of Federal Court judges.

"The meeting with MPs was very, very good. It was well received by and God willing, we will look into the matters raised.

"Azalina was there to provide clarification on constitutional matters, particularly Article 125, including the formation of a tribunal involving judges and related issues," he told reporters here on Monday (July 14).

He declined to confirm who attended the meeting, saying: "I do not have the attendance list. I was seated at the back."

Fahmi said further details would be addressed at a post-Cabinet press conference.

It was earlier reported that former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and former Cabinet minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad were not present at the meeting.
