SHAH ALAM: A 17-year-old British teenager, who has been reported missing, has been confirmed to have entered Malaysia through KL International Airport (KLIA) on June 7, Sinar Harian reports.
Immigration Director-General Datuk Zakaria Shaaban told the Malay language daily that a check on the records showed that the individual had arrived in Malaysia on June 7.
"At this point, I can confirm that there is an entry record with the Malaysian Immigration Department. Immigration will provide full cooperation to the Royal Malaysia Police to locate the teenager," he said on Thursday (July 19).
Prior to this, media reports highlighted the teenager's disappearance, noting that he had allegedly flown to Malaysia alone. The boy was reported missing by his family after it was believed he had flown from his home country to Kuala Lumpur in June without his family's knowledge.
David Balisong, a teenager from Cheadle, Greater Manchester, had informed his younger brother that he would leave early for school due to sitting for GCE A-Level exams on June 6. According to a Daily Mail report, Balisong was then detected boarding a one-way flight to KLIA without informing anyone.
His disappearance was only noticed when Balisong failed to return home, prompting his family to realise something suspicious had occurred regarding his absence.
