No shouting heard at PKR top-level meet, say two leaders

PETALING JAYA: There was no shouting heard at a PKR central leadership council meeting held recently, say two party leaders.

This comes after Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli claimed party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim shouted at him for nearly 20 minutes during the meeting ahead of the May 23 party polls.

In a brief post on X on Saturday (June 5), Perlis PKR chief Noor Amin Ahmad said he was present at the meeting and did not observe any major argument.

"I was present. Don't recall any raised voices that lasted close to half an hour," he posted.

Another council member, Dr Maszlee Malik, also denied the allegation, calling it baseless and exaggerated.

"Not even for a minute did the president shout during the last meeting on the party elections," he said in a Facebook post.

Maszlee, who is former education minister, added that those present at the meeting could testify that no shouting took place.

In a recent episode on his podcast, Rafizi claimed he was reprimanded by Anwar for criticising the party's digital voting system.

The Pandan MP said he had raised concerns about the system's transparency, including its source code, server and blockchain usage, which he claimed could be manipulated.
