The case has shocked the nation after it was reported that the victim, a Bachelor of Physiotherapy student, was found dead in her student hostel in Selangor.

Investigations revealed that the main suspect had allegedly spent the night at the unit with his girlfriend, who is among those arrested.

Police believe he gained access to the condominium using a card and keys given to him before the incident.

The victim, who was from Kuching, Sarawak, was found unconscious with visible injuries by a friend around 10am on June 24.

The friend immediately alerted the police.

At the time of the incident, the victim had been alone in the unit, as the five other students she lived with had returned home for the holidays on June 21.

She had stayed behind to prepare for an upcoming examination.
