Sabah polls: PH, Barisan in final stages of talks, says Umno sec-gen


PASIR PUTEH: Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional are in the final stages of negotiations in preparation for the Sabah state election, saysDatuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

The Umno secretary-general said negotiations with all relevant parties to face the election are actively ongoing.

"We are in talks with all parties. Insya-Allah, we will continue discussions with everyone. As the Umno president (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) said, we have never completely shut the door, nor have we thrown it wide open," he told reporters after opening the Pasir Puteh Umno division delegates meeting here Saturday (June 28).

He was asked to comment on the direction of the cooperation between PH and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for the next Sabah state election.

The five-year term of the Sabah state assembly will expire on Nov 11. - Bernama
