SHAH ALAM: Selangor's Public Health and Environment Exco, Jamaliah Jamaluddin, has officially become a wife in a private marriage ceremony held on Sunday (June 8).

The Bandar Utama State Assembly Member herself announced the union with her chosen partner, Joshua, in an intimate setting attended by close family and a few friends who have known the couple since their school days.

According to Jamaliah, the decision to hold a small-scale ceremony was made to respect the wishes of both families, who wanted a celebration focused on the wisdom and blessings of the marriage.

"Alhamdulillah, with His permission, my partner and I successfully held our marriage ceremony yesterday. I apologise if anyone feels left out.

"Believe me, this decision was made with careful thought and utmost respect for all who have supported us," she stated in a Facebook post on Monday (June 9).

She explained that the ceremony was also witnessed by Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, and several notable political figures, including Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin, who had been her 'boss' and also mentored her husband during his internship.

Jamaliah hinted at the possibility of celebrating this joy more openly and grandly with friends and acquaintances in the future.

"For now, I ask for everyone's prayers that Allah SWT blesses this marriage with tranquility, love, and mercy. Please pray that we can navigate this marital journey well, enduring and always blessed by Him," she said.
