Woman dies after husband allegedly slits her throat in Johor

TANGKAK: A woman in her 30s was killed after her husband allegedly slit her throat.

The incident was said to have taken place at their house in Bukit Gambir near here on Tuesday (June 3) morning.

After slashing his wife, the husband apparently went to his mother-in-law’s house in Lenga, Muar, about 40km away and tried to set it on fire.

However, his attempt was unsuccessful but he managed to set fire to several vehicles that were parked in front of the house.

The suspect was said to have been arrested when police surrounded his house afterwards.

Tangkak OCPD Supt Roslan Mohd Talib confirmed the case and said investigations are ongoing to find out the exact time of the incident and the motive behind the suspect’s actions.

He said a press release would be issued soon with more details regarding the case.

It was also learnt that the suspect would be brought to the Tangkak Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday (June 4) to obtain a remand order.
