AYER HITAM: Four shoplots in Felda Ayer Hitam here were destroyed in a late-night fire.
Johor Fire and Rescue Department senior operations commander Mohamed Shamin Mohamed Salikin said the blaze in Jalan Kedai was reported at around 10.14pm on Sunday (May 25).
“A team of firefighters were sent to the location about 16km away from the fire station.
“The building was about 80% on fire when we arrived and immediately launched efforts to put out the blaze,” he said in a statement on Monday (May 26).
Mohamed Shamin said the fire was completely extinguished at around 2.42am and nobody was hurt in the incident.
He added that the operations involved 25 firefighters and volunteer firemen and that their quick actions ensured that the fire did not further spread to other buildings nearby.
