KOTA BARU: Police have arrested a man in connection with the acid attack on a spa owner in Beris Kubur Besar, Bachok, last Saturday.

Bachok district police chief Supt Mohamad Ismail Jamaluddin said the suspect was arrested at 4pm yesterday at a rubber factory in Kuala Krai.

He said the 45-year-old man was detained to assist in investigations under Section 326 of the Penal Code.

"Police will apply for a remand order for the suspect today to facilitate further investigations,” he told Bernama when contacted Friday (May 23).

Yesterday, Bernama reported that a female suspect had been arrested at the same factory on suspicion of being involved in the incident.

Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said the 38-year-old woman was arrested at 4pm last Wednesday.
