Singaporean duo found dead

KUALA LUMPUR: The TV was switched on, the fan was running and so was the air-conditioner.

But a man and a woman inside the homestay were lifeless.

The duo, who came from Singapore, were found by a worker at the homestay in Cheras on Friday, said Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Aidil Bolhassan.

The worker, who had noticed that their shoes were still at the property, then knocked on the door but no one responded, he said.

“Eventually, when the door was opened with the help of the homestay manager, they found that the air-conditioner, fan and television were still turned on in the living room,” ACP Aidil added.

They inspected the place and discovered that the gaps between the windows and doors had been sealed up with a garbage bag and tape, he said.

“One of the doors was jammed. So they peeked through a window and found both bodies on a bed.

“There was also a foul smell coming from the room,” he said in a statement.

Police found ketamine on a stainless steel plate in the room along with a barbecue grill with burnt charcoal.

The relationship between the deceased – aged 33 and 43 – had yet to be ascertained.

ACP Aidil said that investigations showed no signs of injuries on their bodies and no criminal elements involved.

According to sources, the man and the woman were supposed to have checked out from the homestay after staying there for five nights.
