Man dies in accident near Johor Technology Park


JOHOR BARU: A man died on the spot after being involved in an accident near the Johor Technology Park heading towards Senai along the Skudai Highway.

The Johor Fire and Rescue Department Operation Centre received an emergency call on Wednesday (May 14) regarding the incident at 3.25pm.

Skudai Fire and Rescue station chief Saifulbahri Safar said they arrived at the scene, located about 7km from the station, at 3.32pm.

"The accident involved a seven-seat multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and a city car," he said in a statement.

Saifulbahri said the driver of the car, identified as 50-year-old Chuan Chin Hoe, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Health Ministry paramedic team.

He said the body of the deceased, trapped in the car, was retrieved by the operation team using special equipment, while the MPV driver was rescued by passers-by.

"The driver of the MPV, Nurzilatulhani Kunju Mohamed, 44, suffered leg injuries and has been handed over to the Health Ministry for further action," added Saifulbahri.

The operation, led by senior officer I Kup Mohd Kamal Shaari and eight firemen from the Skudai Fire and Rescue station, ended at 4.30pm.
