JOHOR BARU: Three teenagers were among four people arrested for alleged drug-related activities in separate operations in Johor.
In the first raid at Kampung Sepakat Baru, Kulai, on Sept 11, police arrested a 54-year-old man and two 18-year-olds at two adjacent illegally built houses.
Johor police chief Comm Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad said the male teenager is believed to have helped the older suspect distribute drugs, while the female teenager handled the group’s finances.
Police found various drugs, including syabu, heroin, yaba pills and ganja, with a total weight of 278g, he said.
“Police also seized a pistol, 79 rounds of ammunition, a continental car, a lorry, two motorcycles, jewellery and RM51,000 in cash,” he told a press conference yesterday.
All three have been remanded until Monday to assist in investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, Section 30(3) of the Poisons Act and Section 8 of the Firearms (Increased Penalties) Act 1971.
In another operation on Sept 13, Comm Ab Rahaman said an 18-year-old Indonesian youth was arrested at a terrace house in Kluang used to store drugs.
He said police seized 25.95kg of various drugs, estimated to be worth RM1.29mil, from the rented premises in Taman Lian Seng.
He said the teenager worked as a storekeeper for a drug gang that had been active since January.
“The suspect entered Malaysia via Port Klang last year and has overstayed,” he said, adding he tested negative for drugs.
The suspect had been remanded until Sunday to assist investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Comm Ab Rahaman added that police are tracking down the masterminds behind both gangs.
