Eight FRU personnel killed in Perak road accident


IPOH: Eight Federal Reserve Unit personnel were killed in a road accident in Teluk Intan.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Sayani Saidon said the accident occurred at 8.30am along Jalan Chikus–Sungai Lampam in Teluk Intan.

She said the accident involved a lorry laden with rocks and an FRU vehicle carrying 15 personnel, including the driver.

"At the moment, I can confirm that eight people have died, and the rescue operation is still ongoing.

"Some victims who were pulled from the vehicle have been sent to Teluk Intan Hospital, but the operation is still being carried out," she added.
