Food deliveryman denies robbing four women


MELAKA: A 31-year-old food deliveryman has claimed trial at the Sessions Court in Ayer Keroh here to four charges of robbing four women.

Ahmad Reezqan Jaliludin pleaded not guilty after the four charges were read before judge Haderiah Siri yesterday.

According to the first charge, the accused is alleged to have committed robbery involving a female foreigner by fleeing with a handbag containing a mobile phone and other items valued at RM2,500.

The offence was allegedly committed in an alley near the Bachang Permai Flats here at 9.15pm on Feb 23.

Ahmad Reezqan was also charged with robbing three other women at a supermarket on April 22, and a hypermarket in Peringgit here on April 23.

The charges were framed under Section 392 of the Penal Code, which provides for a maximum prison sentence of 14 years and can be fined or whipped, if convicted.

Haderiah set the bail at RM8,000 for each charge in two sureties and fixed June 17 for mention.
