Six injured in crash involving four vehicles in Mersing


MERSING: A collision involving four vehicles, including a bus, left six people injured.

However, all the 46 bus passengers were not hurt.

Mersing Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Mohd Shamsuri Shafai said they received a report on the incident at 5.38am on Monday (May 5) involving two trailer lorries, a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) and an express bus.

Eight firefighters were deployed to the scene along Jalan Jemaluang, Risda Sungai Ambat here, which is about 31km from the fire station.

“The driver of the MPV was trapped inside the vehicle as a result of the crash.

"Firemen had to use special tools to rescue the victim.

"Three men and a woman in the MPV, as well as both lorry drivers were injured," he said in a statement.

Those injured were taken to the nearest hospital for medical treatment.
